Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced a comprehensive set of education reforms during the Laptop and Honahar Scholarship distribution ceremony at the University of Sargodha. She committed to expanding merit-based scholarships starting next academic year to enhance access to higher education and support talented students across Punjab, regardless of their financial status.

She also revealed major infrastructure initiatives, including installing electric bike charging stations at educational institutions, setting up AI and computer labs in 6,000 government schools, building 50,000 new classrooms province-wide, and providing essential furniture such as chairs and desks to every public school. Maryam Nawaz expressed her vision for government school students to be on par with, or even surpass, their private school counterparts, reinforcing her administration’s dedication to equitable education.
Addressing broader concerns, she urged students to verify information before sharing it online, stressing the importance of responsible freedom of expression in the digital age. She concluded by emphasizing inclusive education and her commitment to the success of every boy and girl in Punjab.
