KFC Protests
In a related development, more than 200 people have been detained across Pakistan following coordinated attacks on KFC branches. The attacks stem from rising anti-US sentiment and backlash over American support for Israel in the Gaza conflict.
At least 11 KFC outlets were vandalized in cities like Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. A tragic incident near Lahore resulted in the death of a KFC employee.
Security has been tightened around affected restaurants, and investigations are underway. While Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has denied organizing the protests, it has voiced strong calls for boycotting Western and Israeli-linked brands. So far, KFC and its parent company Yum Brands have not issued any public statements.
