Fakhar Zaman Key to Qalandars’ Success, Says Former PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja
Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has emphasized the importance of opener Fakhar Zaman’s performance in securing wins for Lahore Qalandars in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season.
Sharing his thoughts on his YouTube channel, Raja stated, “Whenever Fakhar performs, the Qalandars come out of the doldrums. When he sets a score, it allows Shaheen Shah Afridi to bowl well.”

Raja also praised Shaheen Shah Afridi for his impactful bowling, particularly highlighting a recent performance. “Shaheen has made the match easy for the Qalandars by scooping up two wickets in a single over,” he noted.
He added that early breakthroughs can severely disrupt the opposition’s chances, especially when chasing a target above 200 runs. “It becomes difficult for the opposition to chase a staggering total of over 200 runs after losing early wickets,” he explained.
Turning his attention to Karachi Kings batter Shan Masood, Raja said the left-hander needs to anchor the innings more effectively, especially under pressure. “Shan Masood needs to extend his innings in the middle overs, particularly in tough situations for the Kings,” Raja advised.
As the PSL continues, Raja’s insights underscore the critical roles of both individual brilliance and tactical play in determining match outcomes.
