Lahore Qalandars’ wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings offered a lighthearted yet honest take when asked to compare the Pakistan Super League (PSL) with the Indian Premier League (IPL).

With a hint of humor, Billings replied,
“You want me to say something silly? It’s hard to look past the IPL as the premier competition in the world, it’s very obvious. Every other competition is just behind. In England (T20 Blast and The Hundred), we are trying to do the same like PSL as the second best competition in world, Big Bash (BBL) too trying to do the same.”

The 33-year-old English cricketer, who last played in the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2022, is currently shining for Lahore Qalandars in PSL 10. After getting out for a duck in the season opener, Billings bounced back with a fiery unbeaten 50 off just 19 balls against Quetta Gladiators. In the next match, he chipped in with a quick 19 off 10 deliveries, helping Lahore post a solid total of 201/6 against Karachi Kings.

Lahore’s bowlers then delivered a stellar performance, with captain Shaheen Afridi taking out both Karachi openers for ducks. Despite a resilient 39-run effort from Khushdil Shah, Karachi Kings were dismissed for 136, giving Lahore a convincing 65-run win.

This victory marked Lahore’s second straight away win, boosting their momentum ahead of their next clash with Multan Sultans on April 22.
