Security forces have killed two terrorists, including a high-profile militant commander, during an intelligence-based operation in the Timergara area of Lower Dir district, the military’s media wing said on Friday.
The overnight operation, conducted between April 10 and 11, followed credible intelligence about the presence of militants. An intense firefight broke out after troops cordoned off the area, resulting in the deaths of the terrorists.

Among those killed was Hafeezullah Kochwan, a wanted commander linked to multiple attacks on security forces and civilians. Authorities had placed a bounty of Rs. 10 million on his capture.
A follow-up sanitization operation is currently in progress to ensure the region is free of any remaining threats. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reiterated the armed forces’ commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country.
