An explosion near a police van on Quetta’s Double Road has left 17 people injured, including two police officers. The injured individuals were swiftly transported to Civil Hospital, where an emergency has been declared. Additional medical staff, including doctors and paramedics, have been summoned to the Trauma Center to treat the victims.
Initial reports indicate that the explosive device was planted in a motorcycle and detonated as the police van approached, causing significant damage to the vehicle. Authorities have cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation into the incident, which has heightened security concerns in the region.

The explosion follows a series of attacks in Balochistan, including the recent shooting of four non-local passengers in Kalmat. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extending condolences to the victims’ families. Both leaders emphasized that terrorists are enemies of the country’s progress, particularly in Balochistan, and vowed to bring those responsible to justice.
