Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met national footballer Muhammad Riaz on Wednesday, offering him financial aid of Rs2.5 million and announcing a job for him.
The move followed the PM’s acknowledgment of Riaz’s financial hardships.

Hailing from Hangu, Riaz, a skilled footballer, had been compelled to sell jalebis to sustain himself after losing his job due to the discontinuation of departmental sports under the previous government. His plight gained traction on social media, prompting the prime minister to intervene.
In response, Shehbaz Sharif invited Riaz to the Prime Minister’s House and assured him of complete support.
