The government announced on Friday a revision in petroleum prices for the upcoming fortnight, effective from February 1 (Saturday).
Both petrol and high-speed diesel prices have been increased. According to an official notification from the Ministry of Finance, petrol prices have risen by Rs1 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs257.13 per litre.

Meanwhile, high-speed diesel saw a significant hike of Rs7 per litre, setting the new price at Rs267.95 per litre.
The finance ministry formally communicated the revised fuel prices through an official notice.
Earlier, on January 16, the government had also raised fuel prices, with petrol increasing by Rs3.47 per litre to Rs256.13 per litre, while high-speed diesel rose by Rs2.61 per litre, reaching Rs260.95 per litre.
