PIA Crew Members Caught with 78 Smuggled iPhone 16 Pro Units

Customs Officials Seize 78 High-Value Mobile Phones, Including 54 iPhones, from PIA Crew

Customs officials confiscated 78 high-value mobile phones, including 54 iPhones, worth millions of rupees, from the crew of a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight traveling from Dubai to Multan.

The seized iPhone 16 Pro devices were found in the possession of five crew members: senior steward Faisal Pervaiz, air hostesses Nishat and Sadaf, and flight stewards Imran and Khalid Khan. Acting on prior intelligence, Customs authorities intercepted the crew and initially discovered 24 iPhones with the two air hostesses.

Further investigation led to the recovery of an additional 54 mobile phones from the male crew members. They were called back from their hotel for questioning, which resulted in the seizure of the remaining devices. The estimated value of the recovered phones runs into millions of rupees.

The statements of the individuals involved in this smuggling attempt have been officially recorded. While the mobile phones were confiscated, the crew members were permitted to return home following the inquiry.
