Religious Scholars Declare One-Wheeling, Kite Flying, and Aerial Firing Un-Islamic

In a significant religious ruling, Pakistan’s religious scholars have issued a fatwa declaring one-wheeling, kite flying, and aerial firing as un-Islamic due to their life-threatening nature. The fatwa emphasizes the sanctity of human life, stating that any activity endangering life contradicts Islamic teachings, which prioritize the protection of individuals. Scholars have equated these dangerous activities to acts of self-harm, urging the public to refrain from them.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran highlighted the fatalities associated with these activities, reiterating that Islam forbids actions leading to harm or self-destruction. Police records reveal a concerning rise in such incidents, with 151 individuals arrested for one-wheeling and 150 cases registered for kite flying in just 20 days. Additionally, 118 people involved in aerial firing have been jailed.

Authorities have vowed to intensify efforts to curb these hazardous practices. They have called on parents to discourage their children from engaging in such dangerous behavior, emphasizing the need for community cooperation in maintaining public safety and adhering to Islamic values.

Kite flying and aerial firing have been linked to numerous injuries and fatalities, with sharp kite strings and stray bullets contributing to the dangers. Religious leaders and authorities have urged the public to work together to ensure the protection of life.
