Reports reveal that the 58-year-old doctor, based in Birmingham, used a method of circumcision that led to several children needing hospital treatment, with one child narrowly avoiding death. Dr. Siddiqi had been employed at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust before he began performing circumcisions in people’s homes for additional income.

Despite being suspended and later struck off the General Medical Council (GMC) register, Dr. Siddiqi continued his circumcision practices, disregarding hygiene standards and putting children at risk.

A Hampshire police investigator stated that the doctor seemed indifferent to the risks and suffering his actions caused. Media reports indicate that Dr. Siddiqi confessed to 25 offenses, and the court acknowledged his attempts to delay proceedings. As a result, he was sentenced to jail for his negligent actions.
