Minister Naqvi emphasized the opportunity to leverage Saudi expertise to improve Pakistan’s passport system. “The assistance of the Saudi Directorate of Passports can be pivotal in making our system more user-friendly and secure,” Naqvi remarked, highlighting the potential benefits for Pakistan.

In addition, he announced plans to establish a call center in Pakistan modeled after Saudi Arabia’s system to improve service delivery for citizens. Minister Naqvi stressed the importance of collaboration in detecting and preventing passport forgery, stating, “With Saudi Arabia’s support, we can apprehend offenders involved in passport forgery and document tampering within Pakistan itself.”

The visit also brought attention to the recent incident where 3,700 Pakistanis were apprehended at Saudi airports for attempting to travel with tampered passports or fake documents, underscoring the need for stronger preventive measures.

This visit marks an important step toward enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in modernizing and securing passport systems.
