An earthquake struck several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Malakand, Swat, Chitral, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, and Shangla, on Thursday. The tremors, with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale, were felt across these areas, causing panic among residents who rushed out of their homes and workplaces. According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad, the earthquake’s epicentre was located in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region, with a depth of 212 km. The tremors were also felt in neighboring regions, including Afghanistan and India-held Kashmir.

Earlier on Wednesday night, another earthquake was felt in Buner and its surrounding areas. This earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.6 and a depth of 85 km, also originated from the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region. These seismic events have raised concerns and prompted further monitoring of the situation in the region.
