Eight airports, such as Parachinar, Dalbadin, and Bannu, are currently closed, causing the Pakistan Airport Authority to lose millions of dollars.
Despite the lack of operations, staff at these airports continue to receive salaries and incur monthly operating costs.

To address financial challenges, Pakistan is considering outsourcing three major airports, with a Turkish company’s bid for Islamabad International Airport recently receiving technical approval.
The Pakistan Airports Authority has stated that these airports may still serve foreign dignitaries or accommodate diverted flights while remaining committed to maintaining flight safety and ensuring air service availability across the country.
