127th Urs of Sufi Poet Hazrat Khwaja Ghulam Farid Begins in Kot Mithan, Rajanpur

The 127th annual Urs of the revered Sufi poet Hazrat Khwaja Ghulam Farid began on Wednesday in Kot Mithan, Rajanpur district, attracting a large gathering of devotees from across Pakistan. Celebrations started on the 5th of Rabi’ul-Thani, marking the beginning of this significant spiritual event.

In preparation for the Urs, Deputy Commissioner Shafqatullah led a meeting to review and finalize arrangements for the comfort and convenience of pilgrims. The district administration directed the health department to set up medical camps, while MAPCO was tasked with preventing load shedding during the festivities.

The Municipal Committee is responsible for ensuring sanitation, clean drinking water, and proper food hygiene at vendor stalls throughout the event. Civil Defence teams are implementing thorough security measures, including regular searches and swiping at Darbar Farid, to maintain a safe environment.

Additionally, traffic police have been deployed to manage parking and maintain smooth traffic flow around the area. Key officials from Rescue 1122, police, public health, and various departments are working together to provide a secure and well-coordinated experience for all attendees.
