The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has granted protective bail to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, addressing concerns over potential arrest attempts by federal and Punjab authorities. Gandapur’s legal team expressed fears of his arrest, which the court found credible.

The court’s order noted that Gandapur had surrendered himself and, as a result, granted him protective bail. This decision shields him from arrest and requires his appearance before relevant courts by November 5, allowing him to continue his duties in the meantime.

Previously, an Islamabad court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Gandapur in an illegal arms and liquor case. Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hussain Zaidi issued the warrant after Gandapur failed to respond to several court summons, with his next hearing set for October 12.

The situation remains tense, with PTI leaders alleging Gandapur’s detention at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad. Government officials, however, have denied these claims as legal proceedings continue.
