The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is moving forward to enhance internet speed in the country by planning to grant a license to Starlink, the satellite internet company owned by Elon Musk.
PTA officials stated that the decision to issue a license to Starlink is essentially finalized, pending only security clearance. Once this step is completed, Starlink will be authorized to operate in Pakistan.

The launch of Starlink’s high-speed satellite internet service is expected to significantly improve connectivity, particularly in rural and remote areas where traditional broadband is limited or slow. However, Starlink must first establish a commercial agreement with Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) to deliver its services, which will also require PTA approval.
Starlink’s services are expected to roll out in Pakistan within a year, providing reliable, high-speed satellite internet access to citizens nationwide.
