A man has committed suicide by jumping off a metro bus bridge in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI – A man took his own life by jumping from a bridge on the metro bus service route near Committee Chowk in the Waris Khan police precinct. The deceased, identified as 34-year-old Waheed, was reported to have mental health issues and was known to wander the streets of the city. The incident has raised concerns about the security measures of the metro bus service, as officials are uncertain about how Waheed accessed the elevated track. Waheed, a resident of Sargodha, fell onto Murree Road and died instantly.

SHO Tehzeebul Hassan of Waris Khan police station stated that Waheed’s relatives had informed authorities of his mental health condition. The metro bus administration reported that their security staff attempted to intervene but were unable to prevent him from jumping.
