Stranded Pakistani prisoners in Sri Lanka will be repatriated within a week

Sri Lankan High Commissioner Ravindra Chandra Srivijay Gunaratne recently met with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to discuss matters of mutual interest, particularly focusing on the release of Pakistani citizens imprisoned in Sri Lanka. During the meeting, it was decided that efforts would be made to bring these Pakistani prisoners back home within seven days. Both parties agreed to expedite the necessary procedures to facilitate this repatriation.

The Sri Lankan High Commissioner assured that all possible support would be provided for the release of the Pakistani prisoners. Minister Naqvi emphasized that steps are being swiftly finalized to ensure the timely return of these individuals to Pakistan.

In addition to prisoner repatriation, the meeting also covered issues related to anti-narcotics efforts and border security. Minister Naqvi stressed the importance of strengthening mutual cooperation in these areas, highlighting the need for collaborative measures to address these pressing concerns.
