It seems like Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has raised concerns about an alleged American plot to overthrow Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government during a meeting with a delegation from the New York State Assembly and American-Pakistani Public Affairs Committee. He urged the US Congress to investigate this matter, citing a diplomatic cipher that purportedly caused political turmoil in Pakistan.
Adviser Muzammil Aslam confirmed that Gandapur discussed the cipher issue with the American delegation, who reportedly supported his concerns and acknowledged them. The meeting also focused on enhancing relations between KP and New York State, particularly in areas like health, education, trade, and human resources. Both sides agreed to sign memorandums of understanding for partnerships and initiate programs such as nursing exchanges and tele-health.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Gandapur highlighted his government’s priorities, including reforms in health and education sectors. He emphasized the success of KP’s health card scheme, providing free healthcare to the entire population through registered hospitals. Gandapur also mentioned plans to introduce an Education Card similar to the health insurance scheme to improve access to education for out-of-school children and increase women’s literacy rates.

The chief minister expressed the need for international support in providing scholarships for higher education abroad and modern vocational training for youth. He invited US investment in tourism, mining, agriculture, and hydropower sectors, promising a conducive environment under KP’s ease-of-doing-business policy.
Gandapur outlined efforts to strengthen KP’s economy through sustainable reforms and legislation, aiming to generate revenue and create job opportunities. The delegation praised KP’s reforms in health, education, and social sectors, as well as initiatives in climate change and forest cover increase.
Overall, the meeting highlighted bilateral cooperation prospects and KP’s commitment to development across various sectors with potential international collaboration.
