In response, Hezbollah announced it had targeted several Israeli military sites following Israel’s assassination of its senior military commander, Mohammad Naameh Nasser, the previous day. The tension along the Lebanon-Israel border intensified on October 8, 2023, after Hezbollah launched rockets into Israel in solidarity with Hamas. Israel retaliated by firing heavy artillery into southeastern Lebanon. Recent tensions have escalated further, with the Israeli military approving operational plans for potential attacks on Lebanon, while Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah warned of targeting all of Israel with missiles in any future conflict.
