As of now, Lahore’s temperature is recorded at 31 degrees Celsius, with a potential high of 39 degrees Celsius.
Given the forecasted rainfall until July 1st, the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has placed Punjab on high alert. The PDMA has specifically cautioned about possible urban flooding in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Narowal, and has alerted local administrations accordingly.
In light of the increasing installations of solar panels, precautions are necessary during severe storms. Authorities in flood-prone districts are advised to clear rivers and canals and to discourage river and canal crossings during rainy and flood conditions. Strict enforcement of laws prohibiting bathing in rivers and canals is also recommended.
The alert aims to ensure preparedness, with rescue agencies and drainage authorities urged to maintain vigilance as per the directives of the DG PDMA.
The public is urged to follow government guidelines and in case of emergencies, contact the PDMA helpline at 1129.
