Simultaneously, amidst ongoing Israeli aerial and ground assaults in Gaza, Yemen’s Houthi rebels declared their intention to target Israeli vessels in the Bab al-Mandeb strait of the Red Sea, as reported by Al Arabiya. Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the rebel group leader, stated their intent to “monitor and search” for Israeli ships in Yemen’s regional waters.

In parallel developments, the United Kingdom expanded its counter-terrorism sanctions list by adding six designations, including four individuals associated with Hamas, according to an update on the UK government website.
This move coincided with the United States imposing a third round of sanctions on Hamas leaders and financiers in response to the group’s recent attack on Israel. The US Treasury Department noted that this action was coordinated with Britain.
Meanwhile, the director of Gaza’s largest hospital reported a distressing situation on Tuesday, revealing that 179 individuals, including infants and intensive care unit patients, were laid to rest in a “mass grave” within the hospital complex due to the depletion of fuel supplies.

The hospital director, Mohammad Abu Salmiyah, explained the grim necessity of this measure, citing the lack of electricity in the morgues and the prolonged fuel shortage since the onset of the Israel-Hamas conflict on October 7.
Al-Shifa hospital, surrounded by Israeli tanks claiming it conceals a Hamas underground command center, has faced challenges. Despite reports of less intense fighting and airstrikes on Monday into Tuesday, the hospital’s ICU recorded two more deaths, bringing the total in the unit to 29. A journalist collaborating with AFP noted the pervasive stench of decomposing bodies in the facility.
Expressing concern for Gaza’s hospitals, US President Joe Biden urged the protection of these facilities and expressed hope for a “less intrusive” approach by Israel as its tanks approached the main hospital gates in the besieged enclave.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
