Ghulam Shabbir of Pakistan, formerly renowned as the world’s tallest Pakistani, has sadly passed away in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, following an extended battle with illness.
Born in 1980, Shabbir rose to fame when he was officially recognized as the tallest Pakistani globally, a title he held for six years. Standing at a towering height of seven feet eight inches, he even earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. His prominence extended not only in Pakistan but also abroad, where he ventured into the world of entertainment. Shabbir ventured into acting and featured in the Saudi Arabian comedy series ‘Baini Wa Bainak’ and Kuwaiti stage dramas.
Shabbir held the title of the world’s tallest man from 2000 to 2006 and predominantly resided in Dubai, where he engaged in various advertising campaigns and entertainment programs.

Deeply attached to the holy land, Shabbir frequently visited Saudi Arabia, where he had the opportunity to meet high-ranking government officials from civil defense and other departments. During one of his visits, he was joined by Kumar Ali, the world’s shortest man, and both, being from Pakistan, received a warm reception from Saudi officials. The purpose of Shabbir’s visit was to pay homage at the grave of the renowned historical figure, Hatem Al-Ta’e, known for his towering stature.
Shabbir’s journey through life took an unconventional path, as he left school after the fifth grade to support his family with their farming activities. However, at the age of 17, he bid farewell to agricultural work and embarked on a different path.
