REC Group of Pakistan and a prominent Chinese company, TGOOD, have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance Electric Vehicles (EVs).
Chairman Senate, Sadiq Sanjrani, attended the signing event with a Pakistani delegation.
Chairman Senate emphasized that this collaboration forms a strategic partnership aligned with China’s sustainable green development goals as part of the third Belt and Road Initiative Forum.

The partnership covers various areas, including hydrogen filling station infrastructure, EV production, hydrogen vehicle technology, battery production and recycling solutions, and the development of EV charging infrastructure.
Pakistan’s transport sector significantly contributes to air pollution, underscoring the importance of transitioning to alternative fuels. The scarcity of charging stations across the country has been a major obstacle in adopting alternative fuel vehicles.
Investors have been hesitant to invest in this infrastructure due to the limited presence of such vehicles in the country. In addition to EVs, TGOOD plans to spearhead the development of hydrogen fueling infrastructure in Pakistan.
Furthermore, the joint venture is keen on exploring regional export opportunities for products manufactured in Pakistan and addressing this challenging situation.
This partnership aims to surmount these challenges through strategic investments in EV components, export-oriented expansion, and the establishment of recharging stations.
