Pakistan Considering Two Changes Against Australia In WC 2023

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Following a humbling defeat to India in their previous World Cup encounter, Pakistan is anticipated to enact two alterations to their lineup in the upcoming match against Australia.

In the 12th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, India secured a resounding seven-wicket triumph over arch-rivals Pakistan. The victory was powered by Rohit Sharma’s dynamic 63-ball 86 and an impressive performance from their bowlers.

India pursued a target of 192 with great precision, with Rohit Sharma’s outstanding innings leading the way. He hammered six boundaries and six sixes during his explosive display. India comfortably overcame Pakistan, with seven wickets in hand and 117 balls remaining. Shreyas Iyer (53) achieved the winning runs and reached his fifty in style. KL Rahul remained unbeaten on a 29-ball 19, including two boundaries.

Although Shaheen Shah Afridi removed Rohit Sharma after his blistering 63-ball 86, it was too late to prevent India from achieving a significant victory. Rohit Sharma continued to dominate the Pakistani bowlers, celebrating another half-century against Pakistan after Virat Kohli’s dismissal.

Shubman Gill contributed significantly to India’s innings before being dismissed by Shaheen Shah Afridi for 16.

Pakistan’s bowling performance was unremarkable, with Shaheen Shah Afridi (2-36) struggling for consistency but ultimately making a comeback by taking the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Hasan Ali (1-34) also claimed a wicket, while Mohammad Nawaz (0-47), Haris Rauf (0-43), and Shadab Khan (0-31) failed to secure any dismissals.

In the wake of the defeat, Pakistan is facing mounting pressure to alter their lineup for the forthcoming match against Australia on October 20. It is likely that Saud Shakeel and vice-captain Shadab Khan or Mohammad Nawaz will be omitted from the team. Saud Shakeel had an unremarkable performance against India, and both Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz struggled with both bat and ball.

Fakhar Zaman, who was excluded from the India match, is expected to be reinstated in the squad, and leg-spin bowler Usama Mir may be given an opportunity instead of vice-captain Shadab Khan or Mohammad Nawaz.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
