The singer’s most recent release is a qawwali-cum-ballad about his commitment to a loved one. While doing so, it incorporates some of the late sufi poet Amir Khusrau’s most famous couplets.
The song expresses love’s duality musically, with tablas and sarangi merging effortlessly with guitars and bass. The song isn’t your typical, upbeat Ali Zafar piece. It’s more emotional and adaptable. It allows a new sound to flow by combining Eastern ingredients with Western sensibility.
There are also visual binaries that capture the numerous facets of Ali Zafar entangled in both spiritual and physical love. Husn also harkens back to Ali’s Jhoom era, which is still a fan favourite. However, it is not at all like Jhoom. There are also unexpected moments, such as Ali’s rhythmic improvisations audible in the form of his signals to the qawwals. His voice builds up without cracking.

The song also demonstrates Ali’s vocal strengths, which include his ability to channel anguish and love, as shown in Jhoom, Paharon Ki Qasam, and Husn.
In the YouTube description, Ali says of the song, “Husn is more than just a song to me; it encapsulates my spiritual journey to grasp the very essence of what we call love.” The tune was originally murmured to me about a decade ago in Lahore, right before my performance at Jahan-e-Khusrau, when the respected Muzaffar Ali Sahab presented me with these lovely couplets of Hazrat Amir Khusrau.”
The most powerful type of art, according to Ali, is one that takes you on a transforming journey of both agony and pleasure throughout its creation and remains up to individual interpretation after completed. “My deepest desire is for Husn to help you transcend and discover your own personal understanding of love through a profound listening and viewing experience.” “I eagerly await your thoughts after you’ve immersed yourself in the song,” he said at the end.
Husn, which Ali produced and assembled, is co-arranged and programmed by Hassan Badshah and features Amir Azhar on guitars and bass, Danyal Zafar on bass, Naveed Hussain on tabla, and Murad Ali Khan on sarangi. It includes qawwali from Akber Bashir, Shahbaz Khan, and Saleem Khan, and was mixed and mastered by Akash Pervaiz at Lightingale Studios.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
