[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]PARIS – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Thursday that he reviewed the present condition of flood rehabilitation in Pakistan with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and that the international community needs to deliver on its obligations for climate justice.
PM Shehbaz Sharif stated in a tweet, “In my meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the Summit for New Global Financing Pact, we discussed the current status of rehabilitation of Pakistan’s flood victims.”
“I thanked the Secretary General for his consistent and forceful advocacy of climate change, as well as his call for developing countries to help them cope with the challenge.” We agreed that the international community must follow through on its commitments to climate justice. “After devastating floods in Pakistan, Pakistanis will never forget how the Secretary General came forward to plead the case of flood victims at global forums,” he added.
PM Sharif spoke earlier today at the New Global Financial Pact Summit in Paris, France.

The prime minister has challenged the international community to develop an economic justice and fairness policy.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged world countries to come forward in generous terms to formulate and provide an opportunity, a system, and a mechanism to satisfy the most vulnerable at a minimum and create harmony in terms of economic justice and fairness to save the world from trouble.
The prime minister stated that the world would never be at peace unless we devise a fair, pleasant, and prudent formula for the distribution of financial resources.
The Prime Minister described the devastation caused by climate-induced severe floods in Pakistan, saying, “Last year, we had the most devastating floods in Pakistan, which completely changed our lifestyle.”
According to him, 33 million people were harmed, and millions of acres of standing crops were wiped away.
According to him, seventeen hundred individuals died in total, half a million animals perished, and two million houses were entirely or partially destroyed.
PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that we must now cope with hundreds of millions of dollars from our own pockets in order to help flood-affected individuals in the country.
He also thanked friendly countries for their helpful and speedy response and support.
