[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Following the signing of an agreement with a foreign investor on Sunday, the CEO of a private company announced plans to launch the country’s first air taxi service in Karachi next month.
People will be able to book taxis through a mobile app, according to Sky Wings CEO Imran Aslam.
“The fare for the air taxi will be much lower than what operators of chartered planes charge,” Mr Aslam said.
He added that chartered services charge at least Rs 2.5 million to transport passengers from Karachi to other cities in Sindh and Balochistan.

Sky Wings would begin with eight aircraft of varying seating capacities, with more to follow, according to the CEO.
He hoped that the service would boost tourism in the country.
“It will be successful, and I hope that many people will join us in this endeavour, as many planes in Pakistan remain underutilised,” said the CEO.
Sky Wings already operates an air ambulance as well as a flight to Mohenjo-daro.
