Court Grants 5-Day Remand of Ishaq Dar’s Grandson in Lahore Case

A Lahore court on Tuesday granted a five-day physical remand to four suspects, including Raza Dar, in a case involving the alleged abduction and rape of two foreign women.

The suspects appeared before the court wearing masks and have been directed to appear again on July 13.

Raza Dar, the grandson of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, is among the four accused in the high-profile case. His alleged involvement has sparked political debate, with opposition parties calling for accountability.

The Lahore Cantonment Courts approved the extended remand to allow investigators more time to recover evidence allegedly linked to the case.

According to court proceedings, police are seeking to recover the alleged ransom amount, a vehicle, and weapons believed to be connected to the incident.

Advocate Salman Shahid appeared on behalf of suspects Sikandar and Sajid, becoming the first defence lawyer to represent any of the accused. No legal representation has yet appeared for the remaining suspects.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue collecting evidence during the remand period.
