IESCO has announced the end of electricity load management across its service area. The company said consumers will now receive an uninterrupted electricity supply as power demand has returned to normal levels.
According to IESCO, there is currently no electricity shortage in the region. The required electricity is being supplied through the national grid, allowing the company to meet consumer demand without implementing load management measures.
IESCO spokesperson Raja Asim said the company is closely monitoring electricity demand and supply. He said continuous monitoring helps maintain a stable power network and allows officials to respond quickly to any unexpected issues.
The spokesperson said IESCO remains committed to providing reliable electricity services. He added that the company is focusing on efficient system operations, preventive maintenance, and regular inspections of the distribution network to reduce the risk of power disruptions.
Officials also highlighted the importance of restoring electricity quickly whenever technical faults occur. Emergency teams remain available to respond to outages and complete repair work as soon as possible.
The company also explained the recent electricity disruptions experienced between June 29 and July 5. According to IESCO, the country experienced an unusually intense heatwave during that period. The extreme weather caused electricity demand to rise sharply, placing heavy pressure on the power distribution system.
As demand increased, several technical problems appeared across the network. These included failures of distribution transformers, loose or burnt electrical jumpers, and faults in underground power cables. Repairing these issues required temporary shutdowns in affected areas.
IESCO clarified that these shutdowns were carried out only to allow repair crews to safely fix damaged equipment. The company stressed that these temporary interruptions were technical in nature and should not be confused with scheduled load management.
The spokesperson also explained the situation in parts of Rawalpindi. In several locations, multiple 11kV feeders share the same utility poles and underground cable routes. During repair work on one feeder, nearby feeders also had to be switched off temporarily to protect maintenance workers.
According to the company, these precautionary shutdowns were necessary to ensure the safety of technical staff working on the network. Officials said restoring electricity safely remains a top priority during maintenance operations.
IESCO noted that the recent heatwave created exceptional operating conditions for electricity distribution companies. High temperatures increased power consumption across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, resulting in additional stress on the distribution infrastructure.
Now that electricity demand has returned to more normal levels, the company says uninterrupted power supply has been restored throughout its service area. Officials will continue monitoring the network to ensure stable electricity distribution.
The company encouraged consumers to report any unexpected outages through official complaint channels. It also assured customers that technical teams remain ready to respond quickly whenever faults occur.
