According to local media, those with temporary visas from these nations who have lived continuously in the NSW region for at least six months must take the same written and practical driving tests as residents.
The spokesperson from Transport for NSW made it clear that if these visa holders want to keep driving, they must switch to a NSW licence. This is meant to fix a loophole in the transportation system where certain drivers could maintain their driver’s licences while accruing 13 demerit points or being found guilty of a significant traffic infraction.
