The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has announced the introduction of E-Answerbooks for selected matriculation examination papers. The move aims to modernize the examination system and provide students with a digital platform for answering questions.
According to a press release issued on February 26, 2026, the E-Answerbooks will be implemented for all papers of Class IX Science Group. For Class X Science Group, the new system will apply to Mathematics Paper II and Computer Studies Paper II.
BSEK has uploaded a sample of the E-Answerbooks on its official website (www.bsek.edu.pk). Schools and teachers have been instructed to download the sample and guide students to practice using the new format. This preparation is considered essential for students to familiarize themselves with the digital system ahead of the exams.
BSEK Chairman Ghulam Hussain directed all school administrations to inform students about the new answerbook format. He emphasized that proper guidance and practice sessions are crucial for ensuring students are well-prepared for their examinations.
The introduction of E-Answerbooks is expected to improve the efficiency of marking and reduce errors that may occur with traditional paper answer sheets. It also aligns with the board’s goal of promoting digital literacy and preparing students for computer-based assessments in the future.
Government and private schools are required to ensure that teachers dedicate time to practice sessions with students using the E-Answerbooks. These sessions will help students understand the format, navigation, and submission process of the digital answerbooks.
BSEK officials believe that adopting E-Answerbooks will streamline the examination process, enhance transparency, and provide students with a modern approach to learning and assessment. Students are advised to access the sample on the official website and begin practicing immediately.
