CM Punjab Approves Bewa Kafalat Card for Needy Families

CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz has approved the Bewa Kafalat Card (Widow Sponsorship Card) scheme to support widows in the province. The program aims to provide financial assistance to vulnerable families.

Under the scheme, every widow will receive Rs100,000. Widows with children will get additional funds. Those with one child will receive Rs25,000, and those with two children will get an extra Rs50,000. The initiative seeks to ease economic pressures on widows and ensure their children’s welfare.

An official mobile app for the Bewa Kafalat Card will soon be launched. The app will help widows apply easily and track their benefits. Authorities said the app will improve transparency and simplify the distribution process.

The Zakat Department will distribute a total of Rs8 billion to beneficiaries before Eid. After the festival, the Bewa Kafalat Card will be officially launched. Rural Zakat committees will prepare lists of eligible widows to ensure proper allocation of funds.

In addition to the widow sponsorship program, support will be provided for subsistence allowances, dowry funds, and religious madrasas. Special committees have been established by the Zakat Department to manage these initiatives and monitor distribution.

Officials said the CM Punjab emphasized transparency and efficiency in implementing the scheme. Authorities aim to provide timely financial support so that widows can meet their daily needs without delay.

The government also highlighted that the program would help stabilize widows’ households and ensure children’s education and health needs are met. The app and committees are expected to make the process smoother and more accountable.
