The Government of Sindh has approved recruitment for Grade 1 to 4 positions across all 30 districts of the province, initiating a large-scale hiring process aimed at filling long-vacant support staff roles in public offices. Officials say the decision is intended to strengthen administrative efficiency at the grassroots level.
Authorities have granted deputy commissioners full powers to supervise recruitment at union council, town, tehsil, and district levels. The decentralized approach is designed to speed up hiring while ensuring local oversight and transparency during the selection process across different administrative tiers.
The government has also cleared candidate lists prepared by district recruitment committees after interviews and tests conducted in 2023. These lists will serve as the basis for appointments, meaning many applicants who previously completed evaluations may soon receive official placement notifications.
Vacancies include positions such as naib qasid, chowkidar, sanitary worker, driver, and dispatch rider, along with other basic service roles essential for daily government operations. Officials said filling these posts will help improve public service delivery, particularly in rural and underserved districts.
Recruitment will be carried out in all seven districts of the Karachi Division as well. Authorities have set a deadline for completion of the hiring process before June 2027, signaling a structured timeline intended to avoid delays that often affect public sector recruitment drives.
The process has previously faced legal scrutiny after MQM Pakistan challenged the recommendations in the Sindh High Court, raising objections about recruitment procedures. Despite this, officials say the approved plan will move forward in accordance with legal requirements and administrative rules.
