PCB Makes Bold Move No India Broadcast Rights for PSL 11

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly decided not to market or sell Pakistan Super League (PSL) broadcast rights for India ahead of the 11th edition of the tournament.

PSL 11 is scheduled to take place from March 26 to May 3. The players’ auction will be held on February 11, where franchises are expected to finalize their squads. This edition is being billed as a major season for the league.

The PCB’s decision on Indian-market rights comes amid broader developments in international cricket. Pakistan will participate in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. However, the PCB has decided not to play its group-stage match against India on February 15 in Sri Lanka. Reports suggest this move aims to exert financial pressure on the International Cricket Council (ICC).

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has criticized the ICC for applying “double standards” and being influenced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The decision followed consultations at the highest level, including a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Naqvi.

The ICC recently replaced Bangladesh with Scotland in the tournament lineup after Bangladesh decided not to tour India. Reports linked this change to developments involving IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders and Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman.

Meanwhile, PSL franchises are focusing on squad preparation as auction day approaches. Teams are finalizing their squads and gearing up for the 11th season of the league.
