Pakistan International Airlines has announced a new travel facility for passengers flying to London and Manchester, enabling seamless rail connections to more than 50 destinations across the United Kingdom. The initiative follows a partnership between PIA and AccesRail, a global rail distribution service provider.
Under the new “air-to-rail” arrangement, passengers can now purchase train tickets alongside their airline bookings, eliminating the need to arrange onward rail travel separately. The facility is designed to simplify travel planning and provide greater convenience for international passengers arriving in major cities.
PIA said the integrated booking option is available through its booking offices, registered travel agents, official website, and mobile application. Travelers can add rail segments to their flight itineraries at the time of booking, allowing a single, connected journey from departure to final destination.
The airline confirmed that the same service will also benefit passengers traveling to Canada. Those arriving in Toronto will be able to connect onward by train to eight major Canadian cities using the partner rail network, improving domestic mobility for long-haul travelers.
AccesRail operates as a rail distribution platform that allows railway operators to sell tickets through airline reservation systems, including global distribution systems used by travel agents worldwide. The service supports integrated schedules, fares, and payment processing under standard airline settlement mechanisms.
PIA said the partnership reflects its efforts to enhance passenger experience by offering smoother connections and expanded travel options. The airline added that such collaborations help bridge air and ground transport, making international travel more efficient and passenger-friendly.
