The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) announced the launch of a new e-Procurement system in June to modernize public procurement processes.

Managing Director Hasnat Ahmed Qureshi said the upgraded platform will ensure transparency and efficiency in government purchases. He emphasized that the system will be extended to Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The latest version will be handed over to the provinces in March ahead of the nationwide launch.

The new e-Procurement system will manage all procurement activities electronically. This includes bidding, evaluation, and resolution of complaints. Officials noted that digital procurement will reduce errors, eliminate corruption risks, and improve accountability.

Mr. Qureshi highlighted that traditional manual procurement systems often suffer from leakages and delays. The e-Procurement platform aims to address these challenges while making the process faster and more transparent for all stakeholders.

The system will also provide real-time tracking of tenders and contracts. Businesses and government departments will be able to submit, monitor, and review procurement bids online. Officials said this approach will strengthen integrity and ensure equal opportunities for all participants.

PPRA further stated that training sessions for government staff and vendors will be conducted before the full launch. This will help users understand the platform’s functions, including tender submission, bid evaluation, and complaint filing.

By introducing the new e-Procurement, the government aims to create a fully digital ecosystem for procurement. The platform is expected to save time, reduce operational costs, and improve service delivery. It will also ensure uniform procedures across all provinces and regions.

The updated system reflects the government’s commitment to transparency and good governance. Officials emphasized that all government entities must adopt the platform to maintain compliance and accountability in procurement operations.
