NADRA Plans New Mega Center in Karachi

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has decided to set up an additional Mega Centre in Karachi as part of efforts to improve access to identity and registration services for the city’s growing population. The initiative aims to ease pressure on existing facilities and provide faster, more convenient services to residents in surrounding areas.

According to officials, a memorandum of understanding will be signed on January 13 between NADRA’s Regional Head Office Karachi and the Town Municipal Corporation Korangi to formally launch the project. The new Mega Centre will be established in Korangi and is designed to serve a large number of applicants on a daily basis.

Authorities stated that the facility will be equipped with 30 one-window service counters, enabling it to process approximately 2,500 to 3,000 applicants each day. The centre will offer a wide range of NADRA services under one roof, reducing the need for citizens to visit multiple offices.

In addition to standard registration and identity services, the Mega Centre will include specialized counters for succession certificates, PakID services, self-service facilities, thalassemia screening, and arms licence processing. Dedicated service desks will also be set up for senior citizens to ensure ease of access and faster assistance. A zonal NADRA office will operate within the same complex to support administrative and operational needs.

The new facility is expected to benefit nearly four million people residing in Korangi, Landhi, Korangi Creek, Shah Faisal Colony, Malir Model Colony, Chakra Goth, Bin Qasim, Steel Town, Ibrahim Hyderi, Qayyumabad, and nearby localities.
