982nd Urs Of Data Ganj Bakhsh Commences In Lahore City

The 982nd urs of the famous Sufi saint Data Ganj Bakhsh started on Wednesday in Lahore. Thousands of devotees from across Pakistan gathered at the shrine to honor the saint.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar officially inaugurated the three-day event. He laid the traditional chador on the shrine and offered Fateha prayers. The ceremony marked the beginning of the spiritual celebrations.

Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin also attended the inauguration. Both ministers welcomed Ishaq Dar and took part in the prayers at Data Darbar.

To allow more people to participate, the Lahore district administration declared a public holiday on Friday, August 15. This decision was made to facilitate the large number of visitors attending the urs.

The annual urs of Data Ganj Bakhsh attracts pilgrims from Punjab and other provinces. The event is an important occasion for spiritual reflection and devotion.

Authorities have put strict security arrangements in place around the shrine. These measures ensure the safety and smooth flow of the large crowds visiting Data Darbar.
