At least four terrorists linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in a joint operation by police and Tal Scouts. The operation took place early Saturday in Hangu’s Doaba area.

Security forces acted on intelligence about TTP hideouts in Zargiri, Shinaori, and nearby locations. During the raid, militants opened fire on the forces.

District Police Officer Khalid Khan and Station House Officer Nabi Khan were injured in the exchange. Both officers are now stable after receiving treatment at a local hospital.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Amjad Khan, four militants, referred to as Khawarjis by officials, died in the encounter. The operation is still ongoing with a clearance sweep in progress.

Additional security teams have been deployed to the area. This aims to prevent any possible retaliation by remaining militants.

Officials said the targeted terrorists were involved in recent violent acts. Their activities have raised concerns about a resurgence of TTP attacks in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The joint operation demonstrates the continued efforts of law enforcement to counter terrorism in the region. Authorities remain vigilant to protect local communities from threats posed by TTP elements.
