4 Million SIM Cards Blocked by PTA in Last Six Months

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has taken action to block 4 million SIM cards within the last six months, as revealed by the PTA chairman during a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat. The committee, chaired by Senator Rana Maqbool Ahmad, also addressed a range of topics, including challenges related to fiberization, cybersecurity, social media content, privacy, and consumer rights.

Recommendations to address PTA’s issues were requested and discussions were held with officials from the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority, focusing on transparency and maintenance.

The committee also tackled issues such as Kunda culture in Karachi, improper electricity billing, and taxation, with the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) providing clarifications.
