Commissioner Karachi Festival 2024: Promoting Sports and Youth Engagement
The 2nd Commissioner Karachi Festival, scheduled to commence on December 10, promises a dynamic lineup of sports competitions aimed at encouraging youth engagement in positive and constructive activities.
A Platform for Youth Development
Commissioner Karachi highlighted the festival’s objective, stating, “The sports festival would provide opportunities for young people to engage in constructive activities.”
Sindh’s Minister for Women Development, Shaheena Sher Ali, is set to inaugurate the event at Government Girls Degree College, Lines Area, which will also feature a vibrant cultural show.

Diverse Sporting Competitions
The festival will host a wide variety of sports, catering to different interests and abilities:
- Tug-of-War: Four boys’ teams and four girls’ teams will compete.
- Table Tennis and Badminton: Matches will involve teams from government colleges such as Government National College and Government Girls Degree College.
- Boxing: To be held at Kakri Ground.
- Wheelchair Basketball: Scheduled at Aram Bagh.
- Kabaddi: Hosted at the Karachi Municipal Corporation Sports Complex on Kashmir Road.
- Rowing: Taking place at the Karachi Board Club.
A Celebration of Culture and Sports
By combining cultural showcases with sports, the festival aims to foster a sense of community and provide a platform for Karachi’s youth to showcase their talent and energy.
