A 23-year-old university student was shot and killed by a man at a private hostel in the G-10/1 sector. The victim, a student of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), was residing at the privately-run hostel where the incident occurred.
According to police, a man armed with a pistol entered the premises by scaling the wall and remained in the courtyard for about an hour. When the student saw him and turned back, he followed her into the building, forced his way into her room, and threatened the three other girls present to stay silent.

He then shot the student, inflicting serious injuries, and fled the scene by again jumping over the wall. She was taken to a hospital but succumbed to her wounds. A murder case has been filed by the victim’s brother at the Ramna police station.
In a statement, IIUI expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss, offering condolences to the student’s family. The university clarified that the incident did not occur on its campus or in its official hostels, countering some media claims.
“The IIUI leadership is deeply saddened by the loss of a bright student. The entire university stands in mourning,” the statement read.
