13 Terrorists Killed in Intelligence-Based Operation in South Waziristan

Pakistani security forces have successfully killed 13 terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Sararogha area of South Waziristan district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Wednesday.

The operation, based on actionable intelligence, targeted a location where the terrorists, identified as khwarij, were involved in several attacks on security forces and civilian killings. The military’s media wing confirmed the elimination of the terrorists during the operation, with a sanitization effort currently underway to ensure no militants remain in the area.

The ISPR reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism, ensuring peace, and stabilizing the region. The operation forms part of the ongoing efforts to eliminate terrorist threats in the country.

This successful operation follows a deadly attack on December 21, when 16 Pakistani soldiers were martyred in South Waziristan’s Makeen district while neutralizing eight militants during a fierce firefight. The attack occurred when militants attempted to breach a security checkpoint, but the security forces managed to thwart the attack, despite the tragic loss of lives.
