10 Killed Across India as Pakistan Retaliates to Missile Strikes

The escalating conflict between India and Pakistan has intensified, with Pakistan claiming to have delivered a “befitting response” to India’s missile strikes, resulting in multiple casualties and aerial engagements. Pakistani military sources reported that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) swiftly retaliated to Indian violations along the Line of Control (LoC), particularly in the Poonch sector.

Indian media outlets, including The Hindu and NDTV, confirmed that the retaliatory strikes caused at least 10 Indian military fatalities, with over 35 injured. The casualties occurred in various locations, with significant damage to Indian positions. There were also reports of Pakistani forces successfully downing multiple Indian aircraft, including Rafale jets, MiG-29, and Sukhoi Su-30, in separate incidents near Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, an Indian surveillance drone was reportedly neutralized.

Indian authorities have yet to confirm the exact number of aircraft lost, though they acknowledged “operational losses” in the airstrikes. The Pakistani military’s media wing, ISPR, stated that their actions were carried out in self-defense, emphasizing that Pakistan reserves the right to respond to any further aggression.

International sources, including Reuters and Al Jazeera, have corroborated reports of Indian aircraft being downed, raising concerns about the fragile peace along the LoC and the potential for further escalation. Despite the ongoing hostilities, there has been no official diplomatic response from either government, although international observers are urging both nations to seek a peaceful resolution.
