Imran Ashraf Reflects on Single Fatherhood: Whats More Precious Than Your Own Child?

Pakistani actor Imran Ashraf, renowned for his role in *Ranjha Ranjha Kardi*, recently opened up about his journey as a single father in a candid interview. Formerly married to actor and model Kiran Ashfaque, Ashraf discussed his positive relationship with his ex-wife and their commitment to co-parenting their son, Roham.

During a recent appearance on the talk show *Khabar*, Imran spoke about the challenges and rewards of raising his son in today’s world. He shared that he makes Roham a central part of his life, often bringing him to film sets to strengthen their bond. Describing the experience of caring for his son as natural and fulfilling, Imran emphasized the joy and ease he finds in fatherhood.

“He meets his mother when he wants to, of course. This is a very distressing situation which is being handled with love. My son is very happy on account of both his parents. He is my prince,” Imran beamed. “All I’ll say is that this (raising a child) isn’t hard. What’s more precious than your own child?”

Imran further expressed gratitude for his blessings, including his career and his son. He highlighted the importance of co-parenting with Kiran, ensuring that Roham grows up with a healthy perspective on both his parents. Imran underscored his dedication to being a good father, stating, “I answer all of Roham’s questions with honesty, show him affection and care, and avoid any behavior that could be harmful or unethical.”

Imran and Kiran announced their separation in October 2022 after four years of marriage. In their public statement, they expressed their intention to co-parent Roham and requested privacy during the difficult transition. Despite their separation, their mutual respect and commitment to their son remain evident.

Known for his iconic roles in Pakistani dramas, Imran Ashraf has built a notable career with his acting prowess. Recently, he starred in the thriller *Namak Haram*. In a candid BBC Urdu interview, he reflected on the project’s premise and his collaboration with writer Saqlain Mushtaq and director Shakeel Khan. Imran’s character, a domestic worker, highlights the struggles and injustices faced by this often-overlooked segment of society, delivering a powerful message about the consequences of exploitation.

Imran emphasized the importance of messaging in storytelling, urging viewers to immerse themselves in the narrative rather than perceiving it solely as a reflection of reality. He likened the pressure of taking on new roles to the necessity of breathing, stressing the constant learning process and the need to fully embody each character. “One who thinks he knows all doesn’t feel pressure, and I am still learning,” he stated, underscoring the significance of relying on directors for guidance in crafting character nuances.
