Two boys in Mumbai, India, have been accused of raping their 13-year-old classmate in a classroom, NDTV reported. The incident happened when their classmates left the room for dance practice.

A police official stated that the boys exploited the situation to commit the crime. The girl, a class 8 student, was in shock and later confided in her family, who promptly filed a complaint.
The police registered a case under IPC section 376 DA (gang-rape of a woman under sixteen years of age) and relevant sections of the POCSO Act. The accused were presented in a juvenile court and sent to a juvenile detention centre in south Mumbai. Further investigation is underway.
