When Will Eidul Fitr 2024 Be Observed in Pakistan?

As Ramadan 2024 draws to a close in Pakistan and various parts of the world, anticipation mounts for Eidul Fitr, one of the two major Islamic festivals. All attention is focused on the moon sighting committee for the official announcement of Eid.

Pakistan’s prominent moon sighting authority, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, is set to convene on Tuesday to search for the Shawwal crescent. The sighting of the moon will determine the exact date of Eidul Fitr in Pakistan. According to astronomical predictions, there is a possibility of sighting the moon on April 9, with Eid expected to fall on Wednesday, April 10.

On Tuesday (April 9), a gathering of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to take place in Islamabad for moon observation. Additionally, other regional and district committees will convene on Tuesday evening to collect reports regarding the sighting of the moon.

Regarding Eid holidays in 2024, the government of Pakistan has declared public holidays for Eidul Fitr from April 10 to 12 for offices operating five days a week, and from April 10 to 13 for those operating six days a week.
