The popular messaging service WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, has released a number of cutting-edge and intriguing innovations this year. A new function for transferring data from one phone to another has just been released by WhatsApp. With the help of the QR-code technology, customers may now easily transfer their data from an old phone to a new one.

According to the latest announcement made by the company, a QR-based system has been introduced that allows users to seamlessly migrate their WhatsApp data when switching to a new device operating on the same system, no matter its iOS or Android. The main focus is to provide a user-friendly platform by introducing new and improved features

How does It work?

Make sure both the old and new devices are on and connected to the same WiFi network for the feature to function and transfer the conversation history.

Go to Settings>Chat>Chat Transfers on your previous handset and launch WhatsApp.

The QR code will then show up on your screen following this action.

To finish the transfer process, scan the QR code using the new phone.

The company claims that because the data is encrypted and is only shared between the two devices on the local network, this method is more dependable and secure than alternatives provided by third parties. These new features give a secure and private migration experience while enhancing security precautions and data transfer dependability.

In the past, transferring data across devices running the same version of iOS or Android was a time-consuming and stressful operation that relied on online backups. The business has just unveiled a wonderful feature for the first time that ensures data privacy while being transferred.

Users could previously migrate their data from iOS and Android, however the process was somewhat involved. In addition, the new QR-code data transfer is a simple procedure that takes less time. With WhatsApp’s multi-device feature, users may sync messages across multiple devices with just one phone number.

Currently, they have improved this capability to support more phones and simplify the process. By adding new QR-code chat history transfer and continuing to improve cross-device capability, the technique offers customers even more ease and flexibility. WhatsApp is always looking for ways to enhance the user experience and make sure that switching to a new device is seamless.

WhatsApp has recently put a lot of effort into improving its usefulness by adding a number of new features. The new feature offers customers new and improved methods to connect and communicate with their loved ones and coworkers, while also enhancing privacy.

One account on up to four phones, password-protected chats, true caller, animated emojis, saving disappearing messages, leaving group chats without informing anyone, controlling who can see you when you’re online, and preventing screenshots on view-once statements are just a few of the new features WhatsApp introduced in 2023.
